DETAILED plans for a new £16.5 million Stadium for Cornwall have been revealed for the first time.
The computer generated images show the 10,000 seater facility, which developers hope to build on land at Langarth Farm in Truro A reserved matters planning application has been submitted to Cornwall Council, who already granted outline planning permission for the scheme in January.
The authority has also given the go-ahead to a separate mixed-use residential scheme on neighbouring land, which would see 1,500 homes, a hotel, restaurant, employment space, care home, small local retail provision and an extension to the Langarth Park & Ride built.
Peter Marks, Chairman of the Stadium 4 Cornwall Group, said: “The S4C Group are delighted with the detailed design images for the stadium for Cornwall and still firmly believe the stadium will become a reality.
“We appreciate some funding is still required to deliver the stadium and we hope that this will be resolved in the near future. “The S4C Group continue to work hard behind the scenes to promote and raise awareness of this fantastic opportunity.
“Cornwall desperately needs a community sporting facility that will provide a range of first class experiences for the people of Cornwall and will also help raise the profile of Cornwall on the national stage. We believe this facility will enable this to happen.”
