Packet readers are again being urged to help raise money for a memorial project in tribute to cancer victim Chloe Edwards.

Chloe, aged eight, passed away in January following a long battle with neuroblastoma, which affects the nervous system.

St Francis Primary School, where Chloe, pictured right with her mum Nicola, was a pupil, now wants to install a pirate play ship in tribute to her but need to raise funds before work can take place.

One of the project organisers, arts teacher Nicky Sutton, said the ship would help “keep her sense of fun alive through play that ignites imaginations and creates new memories.” The school is currently bidding for up to £25,000 of funding through a competition hosted by an outdoor play and sports equipment company called “Wicksteed Playscapes”.

Packet readers can help St Francis win the money by voting for them on Wicksteed’s page on social networking website Facebook.

To vote visit apps.facebook.com/wicksteed and search for St Francis using the “find your school name” feature.

Janey Davis, who is helping promote the project, said: “Voting closes at the end of November and the school are currently in fourth place, so if we can get as many votes as possible that would be fantastic.”
