Asda pharmacy bid goes to appeal
A “sad day for Penryn residents” is on the cards if a town supermarket wins its appeal to build an in-store pharmacy, according to one councillor.
Cornwall councillor Mary May told a meeting of Penryn Town Council on Monday that Asda Penryn had appealed against Cornwall Council's decision to refuse permission for its pharmacy.
“I'm a little bit disappointed but I think we knew it was going to come back to bite us,” she said.
“However I have got great faith in the planning system. Hopefully they will look kindly on us because if Asda get the pharmacy the one in Penryn will go, which will be a sad day for Penryn residents.”
