Helston Methodist Church has hosted a fair trade event to give people the opportunity to buy gifts, Christmas cards and tasty treats.
The organisers would like to thank all who came along to support the event and those who worked so hard to make it a success, adding a big thank you also to Gweek Silver Band members who played hymns during the opening.
In total £658 of Fair Trade goods were sold and a further £250 was raised from the sale of homemade soup, rolls, mince pies, tea and biscuits.
A donation of £50 of was made towards church funds with the remainder going towards a £2,000 target to ‘Send a Farmyard to Africa’. In addition, donations were given on the day, allowing £50 to be forwarded to Traidcraft Exchange to help with their development work.
