Firefighters in the Helston area were called out to deal with two fires at paper recycling banks over the past week.
Arson is suspected following the fire at a newspaper recycling bank on Shrubberies Hill, Porthleven.
Devon & Cornwall Police alerted firefigheters just after 8pm last Wednesday and one appliance from Helston was sent to the scene. When the crew arrived they found the newspaper bank alight, and a high pressure hosereel jet was used to extinguish the fire. A fire service spokesman said that arson was suspected and Devon & Cornwall Police will be making further enquiries. In a separate incident firefighters were called out to a paper recycling bank near Kynance Cove on Friday.
One crew from Mullion attended shortly before 11am and used 2 hosereels to extinguish the flames.
