A car is on its roof but the driver is out of the vehicle.

Police are in attendance. More details as we get them.

The "Tisa" at Penryn College has been damaged in the strong winds this afternoon. A large rip has appeared in the roof.

LATEST: Police and partner agencies  in Devon and Cornwall are currently involved in and preparing for weather related incidents across the force.
Although a major incident has not been declared, agencies are currently prepared for flooding incidents should they arise.
Members of the public are advised to be aware of weather updates and to act responsibly as a result.

Devon and Cornwall police have said there have been no major incidents yet. 

The Highways Agency is warning drivers to take care on the roads

Highways Agency, South West operations manager, Gary Parsons, said “We are doing everything we can to ensure our roads are affected as little as possible by the adverse weather but we would urge road users to play their part by checking weather forecasts and traffic conditions before they set out and drive with extra care.

“It takes twice as long to stop when the road is wet, so leave plenty of space between vehicles, and slow down if heavy rain or spray is making it difficult to see the road ahead.

The Met office has issued an amber warning of strong winds and heavy rain today, with more wet conditions expected to hit the Duchy on Saturday and Sunday.

With flood alerts already in place for the River Fal and Helford River, it is feared the conditions will lead to localised flooding.

The sea around Falmouth is being churned up into a bubbling cauldron today as gale force winds batter the Cornish coast.
An amber "be prepared" Met office weather warning is in place for the Duchy and flood alerts have been issued for the River Fal and the Helford.
