Four hours of fundraising has result in more than £740 being raised for St Keverne Pre-school.

The parish hall in St Keverne was transformed into a Christmas grotto of goodies on Saturday for the Fabulous Festive Fundraising Fete.

Offered for sale were unique Christmas gifts, decorations and food, as well as a tombola, raffle and festive games.

There was also a children's play area and activities, decorations, cards, a cake/bake sale and refreshments including soup and sausage rolls.

The preschool children were challenged to make a Christmas decoration at home for judging on the day, with the winner being named young Frankie Argent.

One of the organisers, Sarah Lambrick, described the event as “a great success” and said: “The committee members would like to thank all those involved in organising the event, as well as the stallholders who had wonderful locally produced crafts and food items for sale, and finally everyone who braved the weather to support the event.”

All proceeds from the event are going towards the pre-school's outdoor renovations, to allow children to play in all weathers.

In January this year St Keverne Pre-school relocated to another building within the school, meaning the children could benefit from extra space and better facilities.

Due to this extra space the pre-school was able to increase the number of children that can use the facilities.
