Time is running out to register for this year’s Santa Fun Run in Falmouth and organisers are encouraging people to sign up in advance to avoid disappointment on the day.

A sea of running Santas will descend on Falmouth on December 15 at 1pm for the third annual Santa Fun Run in aid of Cornwall Hospice Care.

The first event, which took place last year, was part of a series of three family fun runs taking place across the county, raising £32,000 for the Cornish charity.

This year it will be “Super Santa Day” in Falmouth on the same day as the run and organisers are hoping to see around 1,000 jolly Santas hitting the streets to take part in the fun event.

Rose Wiltshire, Cornwall Hospice Care's major events officer, said: “The Santa Fun Runs are open to everyone as you can run, jog or walk along the route and have a choice of two distances.

“There will be a limited number of spaces available on the day of the run, however to ensure you get your Santa suit we'd like people to sign up in advance if possible.”

Registration is £10 for adults and £5 for children, and all Santas are encouraged to raise some sponsorship from family and friends.

The Tourist Information Centre is taking registrations for the Santa Run, or people can register online at www.cornwallhospicecare.co.uk.
