Changes are again planned for Falmouth and Penryn policing, members of Falmouth town council heard on Monday.
Inspector Mark Richards, who currently covers Truro, Penryn and Falmouth, said that plans were in place to put a new inspector in place for Falmouth, Penryn and Helston.
He said that this decision was made after an assessment that one inspector covering the Falmouth and Truro area was unsuitable, due to the size of the area and the policing requirements.
He said that the original change was due to a reorganisation in the force due to cuts, and that this was the next stage of changes.
“There will be better local Falmouth resources to make a better tailored policing service making it much more locally focused. The idea is that Truro and Falmouth will split and Falmouth will be aligned with Helston.
“There will be a new inspector for Falmouth, we will find out who this will be at a later date.”
