Dynamic document detectives from Penryn Junior School were exploring the history of their town last week.

The year six pupils were visited by Chloe Phillips from the County Record Office in Truro, who brought along some 80-year-old paperwork to help them with their research into 1930s Penryn.

Alongside an old school logbook and a photograph of schoolchildren from the era, there was an old map for the children to investigate.

They enjoyed becoming history detectives for the day and Jack, from the class, said: β€œIt was really good fun.

β€œI enjoyed using the magnifying glass to look carefully - I felt like a real detective!”

Chloe is set to return to the school next summer to lead another history workshop exploring wartime Penryn.
