A charity auction is being held in Marazion to support a charity providing breaks for bereaved families.

The Godolphin Arms will host the event on Sunday, December 16 from 4.30pm.

It will raise money for the Sand Rose Project based in Marazion, which offers those suffering loss and grief a place to get away to.

The three cottages, which have sea views and large walled garden, are somewhere families can stay as they come to terms with their loss.

The fundraising event is designed to appeal to everyone from families to arts enthusiasts.

Donations include a number of paintings, including one by St Ives artist Roy Ray, as well as work from respected potters including a large vase by Adrian Brough and a collectable vintage piece from the Marazion Pottery.

There is also a brand new child’s bike, meals at local restaurants and theatre tickets to bid on.

Auctioneer and much loved local character Roger Pascoe will be running the auction.

People are encouraged to arrive early to preview the auction lots or visit the charity’s Facebook page, under its name.

Since 2005 the Sand Rose Project, which is wholly reliant on grants and donations, has supported more than 405 families and 740 children from across the UK.
