Pendennis Brass players, friends and supporters attended the Falmouth Hotel recently for the band's annual dinner and awards ceremony.

After a hearty meal the awards were presented by musical director Steve Thomas and chairman Glyn Thomas.

This year's winners were Chris Verran with the Shaun and Mike Thomas Memorial Salver, Russell Kellow and Adriand Dower took Bandsman of the Year, the Players' Player of the Year was Gareth Thomas, Most Improved Player was Jon Hart, Under 16 Player of the Year was Jake Underwood, Youth Band Player of the Year was Minnie Harrop.

The T J Chainey Trophy for best section went to the Euphoniums and Baritones, Bandswoman of the Year was Sue Brown and Outstanding Performance of the Year went to Gareth Thomas for his cornet solo at Exmouth contest.

Over the Christmas period the band can be heard tomorrow, Thursday, December 13, they can also be heard at Sainsbury’s Falmouth on Sunday, December 16.

The band's final Christmas engagement is the annual 200 Club bash at the Green Lawns Hotel on December 23.
