Kaiser Chiefs have been confirmed to headline an Eden Session on Saturday June 29, 2013.

They join comedian Eddie Izzard, who plays on Monday June 3, and The xx, who play on Tuesday July 2, on next summer’s line-up at the Eden Project with more acts to be announced soon.

Kaiser Chiefs return to the Eden Sessions as curators and headliners for a day of live music at the home of the Biomes. The band will hand-pick special guests and exciting emerging artists to play across the Eden site alongside other non-musical surprises.

The Leeds lads are no strangers to Eden, having played to a sell-out crowd at the Sessions in 2008.

Kaiser Chiefs are stalwarts of the British indie rock scene with all four of their studio albums charting in the top ten, and their 2005 debut Employment selling two million copies.

Their quiver of recognisable singles is on a par with any of their contemporaries and songs such as Ruby, I Predict a Riot, Oh My God and Never Miss a Beat are an integral part of the modern British soundtrack.

This year has seen the band undertake their biggest UK tour to date, with appearances at the Reading and Leeds Festivals and T in the Park, as well as performing at the Coachella Festival in California.

Martin Williams, Eden Project Marketing Director, said: “This is another very exciting addition to the 2013 line-up, following the announcement of The xx. Kaiser Chiefs played a fantastic show at Eden in 2008 and it will be a pleasure to welcome back one of the UK’s best-loved festival bands.”

Announced as a Sessions headliner earlier this year, Eddie Izzard will be bringing his Force Majeure show to the home of the Biomes on June 3, 2013.

Force Majeure will be the most extensive comedy tour ever. It begins its mammoth journey around the globe during spring 2013. From Cardiff to Kathmandu, Moscow to Mumbai, Eddie will visit 25 countries around the world.

The Eden Sessions are set to enter their twelfth year in 2013 following an acclaimed series of gigs in 2012 headlined by Blink-182, Plan B, Tim Minchin, Chase & Status, Noah and the Whale, The Vaccines, Example and Frank Turner.

The Eden Sessions Inside Track club returns for the 2013 season with members getting a guaranteed pair of tickets to each show.

Tickets to the Kaiser Chiefs Eden Session cost £30 plus £5 booking fee and go on sale to Inside Track members today (Tuesday December 18), and on general sale at 5pm on Thursday January 3.
