Two would-be document detectives have contacted the Packet to let us know some of the names in this picture, which we printed in the paper last week.

Mike Gregory from Penvale Crescent, Penryn, and Louis Hambly both telephoned the Packet to identify the dock workers.

The names we have been given are:

Back row, left to right: Brian ??? (shipping company apprentice), Willey Smith, Fred Rowe (chargehand), Louis Hambly, twin brothers Mike Gregory and John Gregory (who now lives in western Australia) and Ray Gwyer.

Front, left to right: Rex Tresidder, Peter Hill, Bunny Curnow and David “Dinky” Retchford.
