This week I have taken the opportunity to publish four pictures from my photograph collection that will hopefully rekindle some happy memories for those readers who have an interest in the town’s maritime history.
The most recent picture, taken in June 2012, shows the J Class yacht Rainbow sailing past St Anthony’s Lighthouse. (BELOW)
ABOVE is an image of The Bar and Submarine Pier, with The Falmouth Hotel in the background, taken circa 1900.
BELOW is Falmouth Basin at Custom House Quay, circa 1959, with Penzance and Porthleven fishing boats in the foreground and the town’s former gas works in background.
Finally ABOVE is a picture taken in 2008 showing the Funchal 500 Tall Ships Race fleet at Falmouth Docks.
