The 92nd annual Cornwall RBL County Conference will be held at New County Hall in Truro on Sunday, January 13 at 2pm.

This year has seen a newly elected County Chairman, Squadron Leader Shaun Pascoe MSc PMRAFNS, a serving officer at RAF St Mawgan.

Squadron Leader Pascoe is the the only serving member of HM Forces to currently hold the post as a RBL County Chairman.

This prestigious event in the RBL calendar will be celebrated with branch standard bearers lining the Council Chamber.

Colonel Edward Bolitho OBE, the legion's county President, will welcome the guest speaker, Sapper Lyndon Chatting-Walters, a combat engineer in 23 Engineer Regiment in 9 Parachute Squadron.

Based in Woodbridge, Suffolk, he was wounded in Afghanistan in 2008 causing injuries including four broken vertebrae. 

Sqn Ldr Pascoe will be presenting his Annual County Chairman’s award with this year the worthy recipients are the publishing company, The Design Place, in Truro, headed by Alan Brooke.

A new award ‘The Kernow Branch Award’, presented in memory of Lieutenant Commander Bob Davidson RN, a past RBL County Vice-President, will be presented to Her Majesty’s Schools (HMS) Heroes. Receiving the award will be children from both Torpoint Infant School and Carbeile Junior School.

The annual County Conference helps highlight the legion’s work and mission in the county and gives the membership an opportunity of renewing their ties with their colleagues from other Branches throughout Cornwall.
