The 84-year-old Marazion man who crashed into a hedge on the A30 and died just before the New Year has been named.
Desmond Barnes was driving his silver Mazda 323 towards St Erth when it left the road at the Newtown roundabout, Long Rock, just after 6pm on December 28.
He was found unconscious and taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske where he was pronounced dead.
It is believed he died from natural causes.
The police have launched an investigation and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.
They would particularly like to speak to a cyclist who stopped at the scene but left before police arrived.
Anyone with any information is urged to contact the Camborne Serious Collisions Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 510 of 28/12/12.
