Comedy tribute to Caroline Quentin's Cornwall: VIDEO

With Caroline Quentin's Cornwall back on TV screens this week, here at the Packet we thought we would bring you a couple of tongue-in-cheek versions by Cornwall's own Carolean Quimten.

And here is part two:

Have to say I was surprised Caroline Quentin was back with a second series it is awful nay diabolical tv. All it is is advertising for posh people nothing to do with Cornwall and the Cornish people absolute drivel!! Its not worth space on the tv.

Heard that she took a lot of criticism for the last series and this one would be different, but if last nights programme was anything to go by its going to be the same drivel.loved her pronounciation of Trebah and Coverack.

I think she should show the rain, fog, traffic jams, road works, pot holes filthy buses and car park prices, or perhaps she did as I wouldn't know because I didn't watch it.

The usual suspects were on, and no mention of Helston ?

hardly call it entertaining tv to show her chopping gunnera stalks down, why would that tempt people to visit Cornwall ? For someone that kept saying she spent a lot of time in Cornwall Caroline Q has not done much to promote it yet. Dont even know if i will bother to watch the rest of the series ,its embarrassing!

Terrible programme gives entirely the wrong impression.

Haven't seen the new one but the last serious was truly cringeworthy and I don't believe a leopard can change her spots.
But it's only to be expected: I can't remember the last time I saw a decent programme on ITV1, not being a fan of period dramas such as Downton Abbey. 'Mindless' is the word that springs to mind, and then there's all the annoying adverts every few mins....

But someone once said there's no such thing as bad publicity, so hasn't Helston's town manager missed a trick by not getting her to stand in the middle of Helston waxing lyrical about the quaint cobbled streets and kennels, or to visit the farmer's market and rave about some locally produced goat's cheese or something? Or maybe even to be pictured being carried from a helicopter by a Culdrose rescue crew member, although he'd have to be mighty strong...

This would have been an ideal chance to promote Helston (if she did it correctly) ,Flora Day. the Museum ,market and the quaintness of the town could have all been explored. and mentioned ,instead of what she has done so far.

The real Quentin should not have been allowed back across the border to make another totally embarrassing programme about Cornwall. Who let her in? We should be told..

Caroline Q needs to spend more time with people in ordinary jobs struggling to survive on below average wages (Cornish wages), riding on a transport system that highlights that most are forced to have a car to get you anywhere and the areas of Cornwall that are the most deprived places in Europe.

The county has four seasons not just Summer - A lot of Cornwall's villages and seaside towns are ghost towns for many weeks of the year due to the weather and the vast amount of second homes - So come on Caroline show the real Cornwall and take off those rose tinted sunglasses

well said bleddyboy

and the next time you spot a native on his yacht on the Helford River in January, ask him where you can buy European subsidized local Gunnera flavoured ice cream

I think the best way to take this programme is just as an advertising feature for the businessess/companie
s mentioned.

If it makes the public visit them and spend money there then good on them.

Maybe someone else could film a proper programme about 'real life' here, it may even rival TOWIE :-D

There was a programme on ITV last year with Linda Bellingham travelling around and although it wasnt just Cornwall ,she made a very interesting programme,.

I did see the program, and as ITV no longer produce comedy/sitcoms etc, this is the nearest (and cheapest) you will get to light entertainment

The seriously good BBCTV from Cornwall last year was Monty Hall's Fishermans Apprentice. He lived and worked in the South Coast community for many months, and produced a quality, educational mini-series.
