Truro walks step back in time
7:00am Tuesday 15th January 2013 in News
To kick off the New Year, Truro Green Walks will be going back in time to explore years gone by.
Christine Parnell from the Old Cornwall society will be leading a gentle stroll around Truros historical city centre, looking back at the city through the ages to discover the Truro of yester-year.
Christine said: "We will be taking a look at the old Assembly Rooms and hearing about the unusual way the building was funded, discovering old bridges that cross Truros many Rivers, visiting grand old houses and their past owners."
Adventurer and poet Anna Maria Murphy from Cornwall's Kneehigh theatre will be coming along also to collect and share stories as part of their ongoing Connections Programme which sees her venturing along coasts, coves and visiting communities around Cornwall collecting local legends along the way.
The time travelling will start at 2pm in front of Truro Cathedral (High Cross side), finishing back at the same spot at 4pm. All are welcome, the event is free and suitable for all ages.
