FALMOUTH’S Christmas Harmony Choir collected £1,407.48 while making its way through the town centre on Christmas Eve and will be sharing it between four good causes next month.
For more than 100 years the choir has entertained the crowds and raised thousands of pounds for charity with its annual carol singing on the move.
This year’s presentation evening is to be held at Falmouth Bowling Club on February 9 when the cash will be shared between recipients chosen by the choir’s committee. Cheques will be handed to Falmouth Street Pastors, Dementia UK Cornwall, to provide Admiral nurses for patients in the county; Falmouth Festival Fund and Pirate Ship for a Princess, which is raising money in memory of Chloe Edwards who died in December 2011.
The presentation evening will begin at 7.30pm and all are invited, free of charge. There will be entertainment from The Lemonaires and a light finger buffet.
