  • "I agree, lucky Helston, they have town Councillors that acknowledge an issue regarding privacy and an increase of traffic in a quiet cul-de-sac. I hope Helston residents appreciate the decent town Councillors that they have."

No need for new Helston parking bays

Creating eight new parking bays in a Helston residential area would cause a “significant increase” in traffic, according to the town’s councillors.

Members of the town council planning committee were asked to give their views on eight bays being put on land opposite 10, 21 and 27 Cunnack Close.

However, at the suggestion of councillor Niall Devenish, backed up by councillor Keith Reynolds, members recommended that Coastline Housing Ltd’s application be refused.

The councillors felt the bays would increase traffic movements in an “enclosed, quiet cul-de-sac”, while the resulting loss of vegetation could cause problems with overlooking that would encroach on the privacy of neighbouring homes – including numbers 10, 11 and 12.
