The Met Office has today issued a three day weather warning for ice across Cornwall and the whole of the South West.

According to the yellow weather warning "icy stretches are expected" especially where snow has partially melted by day or where further rain, sleet or snow has occured.

Temperatures are forecast to dip below freezing overnight, combined with showers "reaching the extreme South West".

Outbreaks of sleet and snow are expected to die out gradually on Tuesday night, but as temperatures fall untreated roads will fall victim to ice "lasting well into Wednesday morning."

"The public are advised to take extra care," the warning reads.
