A Redruth beauty queen will hold a fashion show next month in aid of a children's hospice charity.

Miss Cornwall Galaxy, Katie Mcloughlin, has organised the event to benefit Children's Hospice South West.

It will be held at The Penventon Hotel in Redruth on Friday, February 15 at 7pm.

The show aims to showcase collections from local designers and shops, including Silly Old Sea Dog designer Alison Ballard from Newquay.

A raffle will also be held as part of the show and local businesses have donated prizes ranging from makeover photoshoots to haircuts and homemade cakes to gel nail treatments.

Katie said: “I am so happy to be organizing such a fun event in order to raise money for such an amazing charity.

“Having a child myself I knew exactly what charity to raise money for and the fashion show will be an amazing night and a great way to not only raise money for charity but to take a look at some of the amazing talent that Cornwall has to offer.

“I hope to have a great turn out and can't wait to see everybody there.”

Tickets will be on sale at The Penventon Hotel from February 1 priced at £5 per person, with children getting in free. They can also be bought on the door on the night.

Raffle tickets will be on sale on the night priced at £3 a ticket or £10 a strip.

Any local businesses wanting to donate a prize to the raffle can contact Katie on katie.l.mcloughlin@facebook.com
