Footballer allowed to break curfew for four week Thai holiday

A Falmouth footballer who was given a curfew order after appearing before magistrates at Bodmin has been allowed to break it so that he can go on a four week holiday to Thailand.

Nathaniel McIntosh, aged 23, of Prislow Fields, applied to amend the order which required him to be at home between 7pm and 6 am until March 18, saying his holiday had been booked before the order was made.

McIntosh admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent against three people after being charged with an offence in Newquay in August last year.

The magistrates agreed to relax the curfew for the holiday duration and it restarts from April 3 when he returns to this country.

McIntosh, who used to play for Falmouth, now plays for Wendron United.

Is it in the public interest to know this?
I doubt it.

he wont be in the UK during this period so will have no affect on the local area, so I dont see a problem with it.

Oh right, and I expect that whilst he is in Thailand he will take the time spent in reflecting on the errors of his ways and his attitude towards the three people in Newquay. I think that it is highly unlikely that he will not be sunning himself on the beach nor will he be visiting the topless bars and the sex shows in Bangkok or Pattaya......Not!!!!

If curfews are going to have 'get out' clauses to them, does that not really defeat the object of them! Would it not have made sense to impose a fine or something instead.

This is top hole. One of our local thugs is many thousands of miles away. Who knows, he might loose his temper over there and be forced to stay at the King of Thailand's pleasure...

The curfew has not been reduced in any way. The punishment is just as long as determined by the court. And the magistrates decided it was ok for there to be a pause, a magistrate determined these things not members of the public or the persons family.
In effect the time of "reflection", carlos1602, will continue further into his life than if there had been no pause in the curfew. The matter has been extended.
