Help needed to trace dodgy dealers

Police are asking for help tracing people selling equipment from the back of a van.

Officers say calls relate to suspicious persons selling equipment from the back of hired vans and cars, especially around Falmouth and Helston, including Port Navas.

A police spokesman said low cost products, including chainsaws were being offered and urged caution in buying.

He added: “If you are approached and have concerns, please contact police. Particularly useful would be descriptions of vehicles, including number plate details and persons.”

Contact police on 101.

There used to be a clapped out maroon coloured transit van selling stuff in Mullion every few weeks, haven't seen it lately. I saw the man knock at all the doors but for some reason he by-passed my door. Shame, I would have loved to ask where he got his stuff, saw one of my neighbours going over to the van and buying something.

If the Police enforced Pedlar's licenses perhaps this wouldn't happen so much.

If I see a van selling stuff then I'll buy something, and ask for a receipt and take a note of the registration number, I am sure then they would be delighted to sell something to me!!!!!!

Street selling or door to door without a licence is an offence!
