New arts festival for Truro (From Falmouth Packet)

New arts festival for Truro
11:00am Thursday 7th February 2013 in News
This Easter will see the arrival of a brand new cultural festival for Truro, celebrating the arts within the city.
It will incorporate art, music, theatre, film, literature and Cornish culture, working with local businesses and talent.
The Totally Truro Business Improvement District (BID) is funding the Truro Festival over the Easter break, which will run from March 29 to April 14.
Neil Scott, BID manager, said: “Truro is well established as the commercial capital of Cornwall, but could also be recognised as the cultural capital.
“With such popular destinations as the Hall for Cornwall, Cathedral and Royal Cornwall Museum, we intend to use this two week festival as a platform to show what quality the city holds.”
The festival will encompass the previous BID funded Art in the City and music festivals the city has hosted, offering a broader range of events and activities.
Included will be large scale events like a music gig on Lemon Quay, pop up theatre in the Cathedral Green, Big Art on the streets and a literary trail, as well as other events in galleries, cafés and retailers.
A full event guide will be available from the Truro TIC and other retailers in the city from March 1. Keep up to date with developments at www.enjoytruro.co.uk
