West Cornwall wild wind weather warning

The Met Office have issued a yellow alert as 70-75 mile per hour winds are forecast.

The alert, which means be prepared, was issued at 11.36am today, and is valid from 9am tomorrow (Tuesday, February 5 until 5pm the same day.

A Met Office spokesman said that west to northwesterly winds will increase during Tuesday with gusts of 60 mph and as high as 70-75 mph across southern and western Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Adding: "The public are advised to be aware of the risk of disruption to transport".
