The sad tale of a five-year-old's cat had a happy ending for one little Helston girl.
Tansy Richardson won a national competition run by pet food manufacturer Royal Canin after telling the true tale of her cat's adventures last summer.
Jasper the cat had gone missing for three days, eventually turning up at a sailing club “miles away” according to Tansy's story.
The youngster had drawn pictures to illustrate the story, which ended with Jasper being reunited with Tansy, her parents and his feline sister Flora.
Her storytelling skills won Tansy a year's supply of cat food for Jasper and her storyboard printed out as an A3 poster.
She was presented with her prize at her local vet practice, Head and Head Veterinary Surgeons.
Royal Canin's veterinary marketing executive Richard Skinner said the company had been “inundated” with “many wonderful storyboards” telling the adventures of cats from across the country.
He added: “We would like to express our thanks to everyone that took part in the competition, but Tansy was a very deserving winner as she seemed to enjoy a very special bond with her cat.”
