Penzance school strike called off

A strike at a West Cornwall school has been called off after "suficient progress" at last ditch talks.

The strike would have seen teachers at Heamoor Primary School walk out of lessons today, over claims of excessive workload. Teachers at the school went out on strike last Thursday.

The conciliation service Acas were brought in to help discussions between members of the National Union of Teachers and the school, and in a joint statement said the had been enough progress to call off the strike.
