Porthleven teen to try for Miss Cornwall crown
A Porthleven teen model who dreams of appearing at London Fashion Week is trying to win the regional heat of the Miss England beauty pageant.
Lydia Anne Catherall is appealing for sponsors to help her raise money for the Miss World charity Beauty with a Purpose.
The 16-year-old needs to raise as much money as possible to be in with a chance of being crowned Miss Cornwall 2013.
“I’d really love to win Miss Cornwall it would mean the absolute world to me,” she said, “if everyone donated a small amount of money it would raise a lot of money for charity so please get involved.”
Beauty with a Purpose was founded by Miss World president Julia Morley in 1972. In the past three decades it has raised millions of pounds for local and international organisations in aid of disadvantaged children.
Packet readers who want to sponsor Lydia can do so via Giuseppes Restaurant of by contacting her on Facebook and searching for Lydia Anne Catherall.
