The Police and Crime Panel has confirmed the appointment of Shaun Sawyer as the new permanent Chief Constable of Devon and Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
The decision was supported unanimously by all members of the Police and Crime Panel.
Speaking after the panel meeting this morning, its Chairman, Devon County Councillor Roger Croad said: "I am confident that with Mr Sawyer's expertise and leadership he will continue to provide an excellent policing service."
