Shed arsonists were suspected after a blaze in Hayle left one outbuilding destroyed and another damaged on Friday.
The police were called just after 2am to reports of two men acting suspiciously near Tremeadow Terrace in the Penpol area of town.
Officers searched the scene only to find a garden shed had been set alight, so the firefighters were called in at 2.32am.
Fire crews from Camborne and St Ives brought the blaze under control with the help of hoses and air packs.
As many as 14 neighbouring houses were affected, according to the police, with residents woken by the fire, smoke and noise.
The police made door to door enquiries before arresting two men.
- A 24-year-old and 19-year-old have been arrested on suspicion of arson. Both men were released on police bail until April 19.
