I was really hoping they would be successful in this, they deserve it, Porthleven is a great community that achieves a lot with a lot of hard work. A perfect example of the benefits of having a community interest company.

I don't think there is any fear Ron of Porthleven wasting any money, with the track record they have with their community interest company and other community groups and additionally the good work of the town council, I think they are more than capable of spending the money wisely.

Well done to all those involved with securing this funding.

As a matter of transparency etc., does anyone know the names of the Directors of the Porthleven Regeneration C.I.C. ?

If you mean the members, I believe they are Charlotte Chadwick community network manager, Porthleven Mayor Mark Berryman, Demelza Storbeck, David Turnbull, Councillor Andrew Wallis. I am not open to being sued for slander though or misrepresentation so I am stating that this is not fact only guess work from memory.

Oh and don't expect me to know the difference between a member or a director of a group because I haven't a clue.

Personally I wouldn't care who ran or directed any community interest company as long as they did the best for the village or town that it was in, and I have no doubt whatsoever that the Porthleven group and the Falmouth groups will do just that within their respective areas.

Thanks for the information, unlike Gill, I do care who has the responsibility for spending such amounts of money, and it is also interesting to note their public offices held, and also what they do for a living on a day to day basis.

'Positive people, perfect place' could also be the expression which comes to mind for Porthleven,as well lol

Yes but my point being telstar is if the people running a CIC do the best for their village/town and this is evident in the case of Porthleven and Falmouth then that would mean to me, that they obviously are the right people to be responsible for the money, and indeed to be participating in the group, in which case I don't think it would matter who they are. However, if a CIC were obviously wasting money and/or not running something to the satisfaction of the majority of local residents then that obviously to me that is a reflection on who they are and maybe the CIC or its members should be re organised.

Yes, Porthleven, particularly positive people, perfect place. (Nice bit of alliteration)
