Fisherman's Friends singer dies from injuries

A singer with Cornish shanty group Fisherman’s Friends has died in hospital.

Trevor Grills suffered horrendous injuries on Saturday as the group prepared for a performance in Guilford, Surrey.

He remained in a critical condition since then, until the sad confirmation of his death came this morning.

The singers, from Port Isaac, had been due to perform at G Live when there was an incident involving a falling metal door.

Their tour manager, Paul McMullen from Cheshire, was killed instantly.

So terribly sorry to hear this. Sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to all friends and family. It was clear he was much loved by watching his fellow friends on the television last night. A terrible, terrible tragedy.

I wept. Never knew the deceased but this just got to me.
