The police have carried out house to house inquiries in Penzance after a woman allegedly fell victim to a serious sexual assault on Sunday night.
Officers searched gardens in the area of Chyandour Lane and arrested a local man in his 40s on suspicion of the assault.
He was released on bail until Monday (February 18) after being questioned by officers.
It is alleged that the assault took place around 10.30pm on Sunday and police responded after receiving reports of the incident. They later carried out a fingertip search of Chyandour Lane.
