Budding rugby players at the Falmouth club will enjoy new equipment and kit thanks to funds raised by the Misty Mountain line dancing group.
The line dancers presented a cheque for £1,853 to the junior section of the club last Wednesday.
The money will go towards equipment, kit and travel expenses for the players.
The Misty Mountain’s danced their way to the grand total with a four-hour event at Asda in July last year, as well as displays at a number of nursing homes in the Falmouth and Helston areas.
Ann Williams, organiser of the Misty Mountain group, said: “Ever since we started fundraising ten years ago we have tried to raise money for more local charities in order to ensure they get the help they need. We really enjoy doing our dancing and we’re glad to be able to support the junior sections of the Falmouth Rugby Club.”
The group will continue to fundraise for the rugby players throughout 2013. Upcoming performances include dancing at King Charles Court, Falmouth and at the Friends of the Princess Pavilion event.
