FALMOUTH’S mayor, Geoffrey Evans, an avid royalist, is keen to keep last year’s jubilee celebrations going so held a VIP lunch to mark the 61st anniversary of the Queen’s accession to the throne last Wednesday.

Those invited to help mark the occasion included Colonel Edward Bolitho, Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall and his wife, Alexandra; former town clerk, Eric Dawkins and his wife, Frances; Peter George JP; Colin Brown, the mayor’s chaplain; Mike Carr, James Penrose and Emma Williams.

After enjoying lunch in the council chamber, the group were given a tour of Falmouth Art Gallery.
