The mere mention of these quintessentially springtime flowers evokes thoughts of William Wordsworth's classic poem, in which he tells of finding “a host of golden daffodils”.

You too could encounter such a sight this weekend, if you head to St Mawgan in Meneage's 12th century church between 10.30am and 4.30pm on either Saturday or Sunday, where 7,000 daffodils delivered by Manaccan growers RH Scrimshaw and Sons will be on display.

While still resembling green pencils on arrival come the weekend the flowers will be trumpeting their full golden glory.

Visitors to the fragrant festival will also be able to see equipment used over 50 years ago and enjoy the work of local musicians and artists, including Cornish male voice group Thraw'd Together on Saturday afternoon and classical guitarist Richard Collington and the Helston Chamber Choir on Sunday.

Light refreshments will be available on both days, including pasties from Gear Farm and homemade soup at lunchtime, plus tea or coffee and homemade cakes all day.
