A tyre slashing in Penryn and busted-up wing mirror in Falmouth have the police appealing for witnesses this week.

Overnight between February 10 and 11 a White Citroen DS3 on Bohelland Road, Penryn had its tyre slashed while at 10pm on Valentine’s Day a silver Ford Focus on Wellington Terrace in Falmouth sustained damage after a side panel was kicked and a wing mirror broken off.

Sergeant Martin Roberts, from Falmouth Police Station, is keen for anyone with any information about the damage to get in touch but wanted to reassure the public that random acts of crime are rare.

“The crimes that we have experienced in the last week, it's either shoplifting or an assault because someone know someone. It's not about someone punching someone that they have never met before in their life.

“Things are pretty good in Falmouth at the moment,” he said.

Anyone with any information on any crime can contact the police on the non-emergency number 101. Reference for Bohelland Road 281, Wellington Terrace 301.
