The former Cancer Funding for Cornwall store in Helston is to become another charity shop.
News that the prominent shop in Coinagehall Street is to be filled comes less than a month after the popular store, run by Margaret Fitter, closed at the end of January.
The building is being taken on by Children’s Hospice South West and will become the charity’s fourth store in Cornwall, fundraising for Little Harbour children’s hospice at St Austell.
Sharon Elliott, regional retail manager for Children’s Hospice South West, told the Packet: “We are very much looking forward to opening a new CHSW charity shop in Helston and hope that people will be pleased to see the shop premises in Coinagehall Street being used to help a local cause.
“Our charity shops are an important means by which we raise the much needed funds we require to support our service.”
She said the charity was currently opening a number of shops in the South West, in areas where it was felt it could best serve the needs of the community.
Mrs Elliott added that the charity was “very excited” by the new venture in Helston. It is hoped the shop will open by the end of March.
