There is good news for nature lovers in the Helston area, whatever their ability.
A path linking up Helston Drive with a footpath running alongside the River Cober, at the edge of Helston Amenity Area, is soon to be opened by the National Trust.
It forms a short circular walk starting and ending at the fairground car park, opposite Coronation Lake.
The path has been widened and surfaced, to make it suitable for people using mobility scooters.
Members of the Phoenix Project have been working on it for the past year and now have just a small section left to complete, with the work likely to take place this spring.
It is hoped that the path will be officially opened in the next couple of months, when a commemorative plaque will be unveiled.
A mobility scooter called a “tramper” is available for hire from the National Trust office at Penrose, through a scheme called Countryside Mobility South West.
