Falmouth power cut leaves 700 homes without power

A power cut yesterday evening left over 700 properties without power in Falmouth.
The outage from just after 6.30pm to just after 7.30pm hit the Bickland area down towards Falmouth Docks.
A spokesman for Western Power said that residents were switched to an alternative supply and an investigation was underway to determine the cause of the fault, thought to be in an underground cable.

As one of the affected I was very impressed with Western Power's automated telephonie answering system which after dialling in my postcode told me that the blackout was being sorted out and would finish by 10pm. I wish I could get through to BT so easily.
