Helston young farmers annual dung run

First published in News

Members of Helston and St Keverne Young Farmers’ Club are all set up for their annual fundraising dung run.

This Saturday sees the club’s annual Dung Run. Bags of dung, which can be used as fertiliser in the garden, are being sold for £2, with proceeds going to the two charities the club has chosen to support this year: Farm Crisis Network and the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.

Members will be selling from Sithney Common Hill and can also deliver, with orders being taken by Christina Jenkin on 01326 231237.

Last Thursday the club enjoyed a Valentine’s Day visit to Truro Cinema for their weekly meeting, where members had a choice of watching This is 40 or Beautiful Creatures.

Then on Saturday around 15 members from Helston and St Keverne YFC went to the annual Cornwall County Ball, which was held at the former Green Lawns Hotel in Falmouth, now renamed Merchant’s Manor.

Member Michelle Combe said: “It was a really good evening and it’s always fun to mix with clubs from around the county.”
