Historian calls for memories and memorabilia of the Great War

A Penryn historian is calling on residents of the town who have any connection with World War I to get in touch.

Chas Wenmouth, who is also the town’s Royal British Legion branch chairman, is appealing for anyone who has war memorabilia or knows of relatives who remember the Great War but no longer live in Penryn to call him on 01326 379141.

He aims to put together an exhibition, working with the town’s schools and universities, and has already scoured the memorial in St Gluvias churchyard for names of people that might still have connections in the town.
