National Learn to Play Day coming to Camborne
Free music taster lessons will be available in Camborne next month as part of a campaign to get more people playing instruments.
Trevada Music, on Chapel Street, will be taking part in National Learn to Play Day on Saturday, March 16 with free taster sessions in store throughout the day.
Lessons with a qualified tutor are available to adults and children of any age with the chance to try instruments ranging from guitars to the piano as well as woodwind, brass and drums.
The National Learn to Play Day is supported by a host of rock stars, musicians and celebrities and is organised by charity Music for All in partnership with other organisations.
Paul McManus, CEO of Music for All, said: "The event is designed to welcome people into music shops and inspire them to get playing.
"People are often surprised to discover that they are musical and simply need a musical experience to get them started.
"We ran the first Learn to Play Day last year in just 60 stores and reckon that over 10,000 people enjoyed a free taster lesson with a huge number, up to 40 per cent in some areas, continuing their interest afterwards.
"This year will be a much bigger, truly national event, with people having an opportunity to try an instrument in many more music stores all over the country."
To book a slot for the musical taster sessions call Trevada Music on 01209 714353 with your chosen instrument/s and your contact details.
Instruments available are: guitar, bass guitar, piano, violin, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, cornet, flugel horn, tenor horn, baritone, trombone, euphonium, tuba and drums.
