Falmouth Gig Club has ordered two sets of new seats for its gigs after receiving a grant of £250 from the town council.
Falmouth councillor, Oliver Cramp and town mayor, Geoffrey Evans, attended one of the gig club’s training sessions on Saturday and handed over the cheque to Nick Maxted, club chairman.
Members of the gig club are currently in training ahead of the World Championships off the Isles of Scilly in early May when both the men’s and women’s crews will be battling to retain their titles.
Keen to attract new members, Falmouth Gig Club invites anyone who fancies having a go out on the water to the Falmouth Watersports Centre between noon and 2pm on any Saturday.
