Michael Barritt, of Sullivan Cuff Software Ltd, in training on Bodmin Moor
The managing director of a Camborne software company will attempt to climb Africa's highest mountain this week in aid of a thrombosis charity.
Michael Barritt, of Sullivan Cuff Software Ltd, will set out on his trek up Mount Kilimanjaro on Saturday.
He is fundraising for Anticoagulation Europe (ACE) - a charity set up in 2000 to provide information, education and support for thrombosis patients and prevent the condition, which is caused by blood clots inside blood vessels.
His son and experience climber, Jim, will be accompanying Michael on the challenge.
“I am really excited about this challenge and really hope that I will make it to the summit,” Michael said.
“I have been training hard, but of course have no experience of how the altitude will affect me.”
