New Falmouth School deputy is a familiar face
An already familiar face will be taking on the job of second in command at Falmouth School later this year.
Chemistry teacher, Alex George, pictured right, who has been at the school since 2010, has been appointed deputy head. He secured the position following a two day recruitment process, with tough competition from other applicants from across the country.
He will replace current deputy head, Brett Miners, who will become head teacher in September following the retirement of Sandra Critchley, who has been at the school’s helm for more than 12 years.
After completing a chemistry degree, Mr George spent time in London training as a chartered accountant. A change of career beckoned, though, and he began teaching in 1993.
He came to Falmouth from Newquay Tretherras School, where he had been head of science, and shares his passion for science with his current KS4 and KS5 chemistry students.
