The police are asking for help after two marine related thefts from fields around Penryn and Mawnan Smith.

Between February 28 and March 5 up to 65 black prawn fishing pots measuring 21in by 14in were taken from a "remote" field near Penryn.

Contact police on 101 quoting reference GP/13/463 with any information.

Then, between March 4 and 6, a grey Narwhal HD520 rigid inflatable boat (RIB) with a white line down the centre was taken from a field in the Mawan Smith area.

An open boat with a fixed centre console and a bench in the centre, the RIB has an aluminium A-frame on the rear and was protected by a light grey waterproof cover.

The RIB was also fitted with a 2003 Yamaha 65HP grey/black outboard engine, serial number – 69WI00649Z. Both the boat and its engine were taken whilst on its trailer, which was unpainted and galvanised with a single axle.

If you have any information on the stolen RIB and engine call 101 and quote crime reference number GP/13/469

Surely they should start their investigations by questioning the man pictured holding one of the stolen pots!
