A Penzance thief was jailed this week after he stole an air rifle, handbag and hundreds of pounds worth of cash.
Travis Steven Kaute, of Wood Street, pleaded guilty to two counts of theft and one count of trespassing at Truro Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
The 25-year-old stole an air rifle and more than £380 of cash from Clarendon Imports on March 9 and trespassed in a building on Market Jew Street on the same day.
The handbag theft took place on March 5.
Chair of the magistrates Roger Cargeeg sentenced Kaute to 12 weeks imprisonment because of the seriousness of the offence and the “deliberate and planned” nature of the offending.
